Early Years Learning Framework

The Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) has been developed to ensure your child benefits from quality education programs

Educators at Happy Times use the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) as a guide during analysis and assessment when evaluating and planning for your child’s development. This enables your child to learn whilst engaging through play and social interactions with others to prepare them for school and their future.

Educators use the EYLF in conjunction with families to ensure a holistic approach is taken when goals are set for individual children. We then use these principles to provide ongoing support and plan for further learning. The learning outcomes covered in the EYLF are as follows:

  • Outcome 1: Children have a strong sense of identity
  • Outcome 2: Children are connected with and contribute to their world
  • Outcome 3: Children have a strong sense of wellbeing
  • Outcome 4: Children are confident and involved learners
  • Outcome 5: Children are effective communicators

The fundamentals of the Framework is a view of children’s lives, as characterised by BELONGING, BEING & BECOMING.

The EYLF also encompasses a set of Principles & Practices as a guide for the outcomes:
